Step 3: Enter your bank sign-in information in QuickBooks

For an existing connection

  • From the left menu, select Banking.
  • Select the bank or credit card account you want to update.

  • Select sign-in information.
  • If your web browser fills in the user ID and password fields automatically, clear them. This ensures that your browser does not accidentally embed old information.
  • Manually type in the user ID and password for your bank account. If your bank offers a display option, select it so that you can verify that you have entered the password correctly.
  • Select update.

For a new connection

  1. From the left menu, select Banking.
  2. Connecting Account If this is your first time, select the connected account on the landing page. Or if you are already connected to online banking accounts, select Add Account.
  3. In the search field, enter your bank web address (eg http://www.bank.com) that you found by visiting the bank’s website. Or, enter your bank name.
  4. Then Select your bank in the search results. Note: If you see multiple options, select the type of account you want to connect to. For example, if you are trying to add your business account, select the option labeled “Business” as one.
  5. If your web browser fills in the user ID and password fields automatically, clear them. This ensures that your browser does not accidentally embed old information.
  6. Manually type in the user ID and password for your bank account. If your bank offers a display option, select it so that you can verify that you have entered the password correctly.
  7. Select Continue.
  8. Your bank now needs to be successfully connected. If you see error 103 again, select it again. Repeat steps 4  through 7 with a different option from the search results.
